Age of Innocence
Don't you love the age where children are young enough to play imaginary games and yet be mature enough to take the part of family organiser. Chayse is exactly that age. He loves nothing more than flying aroung the yard in his Spiderman suit and yet he has such a mature well spoken side that only comes out when he allows it. I walked outside on Sunday to find him picking up all the branches that we had cut back the night before. We hadn't finished picking them all up so he took it upon himself to do what dad had been doing. He got the wheel barrow and did load after load. He must have been buggered but he wouldn't give up. He said he loved helping and now Dad would have even more time to play with him. Chayse ended up organising all his brothers and getting them to help too.
We made sure we spent an extra long time playing hide and seek and chasey with them that afternoon. He was so proud to have helped.

Kristen, that's one special little guy you've got there! love how he realized that if he got in & helped dad out there would be more fun time for everyone! he'll definitely make a wonderful husband & father one day!!
What a great looking bunch. I look forward to seeing my young guy grow up and help dad with the yard and stuff. Thanks for stopping by our blog. Hope you come back through soon!

I sure hope some day my kids can be big helpers like that also. That's great that you made sure to play extra with them that night to reward their helpfulness.
What a cute crew of boys you have there. That is a darling little story too. Boys love their dads and what a smart way to find some extra time with his.
I enjoyed reading blog. My 3 1/2 year old seems to have a mild case of Autism too. We are still going through the assessment stuff. We haven't really started to tell people here yet, just family. It's a hard word for me to get out. Even though I know it's not the end of the world I worry that it will change the way people see him and that I won't get him the right help at the right time. What are you doing for your little guy?
Hi,
I couldn't find an email address for you. I didn't get the email from Sheye. I'd love it if you could forward it.
Thanks,
Danielle
Hey Kristin,
Was wondering if you got my mail, I seem to be having problems.

Can you send your helpers my way? Perhaps they could teach a course in helping? My Abby was asked to help put away the laundry and she said: "I don't feel I need to." Grrrrrrr.
Our 3 kids are great helpers, esp. the boys. We're always thinking of jobs to give them. Great photos!
