a boy obsessed with a girl !!!!!!!!!!!! , waiting at the window......
SASCHA
( this one's for you Emma)
The only female companion in my house and she still sides with the boys. This is our puppy Sascha. Well to us she's still a puppy even though she's 6 months old. She has been trained in that time though so that was a plus. The boys got her on the Easter weekend and love her to bits. Chayse is actually becoming quiet obsessed with her. First female in his life and she already rules him Hmmmm. He sleeps sitting up and waits for her to come to his window at night. It's getting quiet bad. The boys are getting up early and getting through breakfast and making beds etc super fast to go out and play with her before school. See I've lost them already to a female. Ugghhh...........

She is pretty hard to resist, can you really blame them??

You know what they say: a dog is man's best friend.

She is just beautiful as are your tales of puppy love :) I can really empathise with this perfectly normal child-canine mutual affection and obsession. My middle daughter Amy married our dog Lucky! Literally and she talks about him just like he's really her husband too. Once Andrew and Lucky were both asleep on the couch, she walked past, looked at them lovingly and said to me "oh, look at our husbands, aren't they cute?"

Oh, and we had to get a boy dog to balance out the too-girlieness of our household ;)

You know I was just talking about your dog with Vikki tonight. She sent me the gorg pic's of your boys you emailed her the other night to have a sticky at & I told her I thought your Sascha looked more like a dog than a puppy. Vik said 'Oh she is a puppy but a big one' I was thinking of a 6 week old pup not a 6 month old. I thought if that's a 6 wk old puppy she'll grow in the incredible hulk of dogs.

Anyway...she's a lovely dog, and your pictures are lovely.

Was at the footy with Shannon today and he said we have to organise a dinner for the 6 of us. with out kids....that'll be easy!!!

Pardon my "Americaness", but with regard to the previous comment, what is a "footy"?? LOL!!

Oh moonpie, a footy is a football. We play it slightly different than you do but in Aussie terms being at the footy is going to watch a football match. I LOVE your Americaness! Em

Great post! You had a few questions about our adoption. With out going on and on, here ya go...our church has an adoption agency, LDS Family Services. They deal mainly in infant adoptions to families with fertility issues (which is just what we are looking for). They let the birthmothers choose which family to place their child with. Of course there is an extensive application process to get in "the book". We like the idea that these girls get to find the home they want for their child. It feels special to us that we were chosen as opposed to just being next on the list. They say to expect to wait 6 months to 2 years. With Corbin we only waited a couple weeks, he was super fast! Cooper we waited about a year. We have had great experience both times. Cooper's adoption had a few extra hic-up's (he has distant Native American Indian heritage so the tribes all had to agree on his placement, and his birthfather didn't want to sign his paperwork ahhg), but as you know we just went to court and now he's really ours. We are just starting the paperwork for number 3. I hope the next one happens quickly...I feel like I'm getting old (smile). I just want to hurry and get a couple more kids while we are still in the baby swing of things. I too would love a girl, but I do love having boys, so we'll say that we'd love either.

Well that looks long, but it’s really the short version. We love adoption and would encourage anyone who feels like it might be in the cards for them to go for it!
